Hi Pat,   I wouldn't be too quick to blame the cottage cheese.  First, look at the breakdown of your cholesterol numbers - LDL, HDL, and triglycerides.  That will give you a better idea of what foods in your diet need to be changed.   If LDL is elevated, look at the saturated and trans fats in your diet.  Cottage cheese would contain some saturated fat, but since you are choosing the "low fat" version, this may not be the culprit in your diet causing issues.  Also, make sure you eat a diet high in fiber, especially soluble fiber.   If triglycerides are elevated, check out this article - Triglycerides: Why they matter and how to lower them.   All the best,   Lisa Nelson, RD, LN 8 Essential Steps to Lower Cholesterol Naturally
