Q: My report says Chloesterol as 195mg/dl and triglycerides 159 mg/dl and HDL 47mg/dl LDL 116mgs/dl,

My report says Chloesterol as 195mg/dl and triglycerides 159 mg/dl and HDL 47mg/dl LDL 116mgs/dl, is there any problem? My age is 42 years and I weigh 73 kgs.

Hi Rama,


Here are the recommendations of the American Heart Association:


Total cholesterol less than 200
HDL cholesterol at least > 40, ideally > 60
LDL cholesterol at least less than 130, ideally less than 100
Triglycerides less than 150

 

You may benefit from lowering your triglycerides and raising HDL levels.  Here are two articles to get you started:
