Q: I have pains in my both upper arm muscles and take statin 20mg. why?

Cholesterol. I am 53, 215lbs and 5'11" non drinking ,non smoker.2 yrs no problem, 3 months ago the acheing started where i had a hard time lifting a 50lb tool bag out of the truck, I stopped taking it 3/4 /2010. I am going to ask you if the aches go away soon, as I would like to stay off this indefininitly.

Hi Jim,

 

I recommend you contact your physician so they are aware of your decision to discontinue the medication. According to Dr. Gerald Gau it's takes between 7-10 days for the statin side effects to go away.
