Q: I am a 28 year old male and my CHO cholesterol is 227 , my HDL is 63 and my LDL is 148. Is it normal or there is a problem

Hi Besan,


Here are the recommendations of the American Heart Association:


Total cholesterol less than 200
HDL cholesterol at least > 40, ideally > 60
LDL cholesterol at least less than 130, ideally less than 100
Triglycerides less than 150


Based on the above guidelines, your total cholesterol is elevated, LDL cholesterol is elevated, and HDL cholesterol is within normal limits. Here are links to more information:
