High triglycerides are a "red flag" to speak with your MD and monitor your blood sugar or request a test that will show your blood sugar control over the previous 3 months (Hemoglobin A1C).
Individuals with diabetes frequently deal with high triglycerides. High triglycerides are not the cause of diabetes, but they do show that your blood sugars are high or your diet is high in simple sugars and/or alcohol, which may lead to diabetes.
