Q: Is there a drug that would be similar to Zeita?

My new medical insurance does not have this drug on their formulary list. I've been taking this drug for a number of years with success.

Zetia is a medication used for lowering cholesterol and works by blocking the absorption of cholesterol in the intestine.  It can be used in combination with statin medications to maximize the cholesterol lowering effect.  There are no good FDA approved alternatives at this time.
