Hi Berlie,

I have not reviewed any recent research on Crestor or followed the lawsuit. However, I did a quick check on the reason for the lawsuit. It appears to stem from a public consumer group back in 2004 requesting the FDA remove Crestor from the market since it did not report kidney failure, muscle damage, or rhabdomyolysis as potential side effects.

All cholesterol medication have potential life threatening side effects and I wouldn't consider them 'safe' to just take without regular monitoring.

I recommend discussing Crestor and your concerns with your physician.

All the best,
