Dyan
10/18/09

Is there one drug that treats both low thyroid and high cholesterol? I am taking levozil (sp) for low thyroid and now my doctor wants to add a pill for high cholesterol. It is 214.  I already eat healthy and exercise 4 or 5 days per week. 5 ft. 107 lbs. I started taking fish oil twice a day and I am waiting for my next test in about two months.

Hi Dyan,

I am not familiar with a combination drug; however, discuss with your physician and pharmacist to learn if an option is available.  I recommend also discussing a comprehensive lipid panel with your physician to better determine if medication is necessary.

All the best,
