Q: my hdl cholesterol is 0.68 mmo i/l is it very low and dangerous to have heart disease?

HDL needs to be greater than 40mg/dL and ideally should be greater than 60mg/dL. I recommend evaluating your diet and lifestyle to see if there are steps you can take to boost HDL back up. Check out this article:

An HDL level that is too low is an independent risk factor for heart disease. Discuss your treatment options with your MD to determine what is best for your situation.
