Thanks for your question.  By your question, it sounds as though you are being seen by a specialist, and may have had a kidney biopsy establishing a diagnosis.

 

 

Your question can only be answered by a kidney specialist (nephrologist) using information from your history and phhysical examination, laboratory tests and your response to medication.  You will need to sit down with this specialist and ask this important question.  Nephrologists are very prepared to sit and explain complicated kidney diseases to patients and their families, and they often must discuss future plans in the treatment of these diseases.
