I decided not to even try the simvastatin, so don't know about the side effects.  Had enough of the cramps and the constant soreness that resulted from the zetia.  Did have a cholesterol lab done in Feb. of this year, and my dr. didn't say anything about it being high.    I take a lot of meds because of my heart...a diuretic, digoxin, coreg, lisinopril, magnesium, potassium, etc.  I have also declined to take meds for osteoporosis.  Too many side effects from so much of lots of meds on the market...and some of them seem more horrific than the original ailment.  I also take B-complex, vitamin C, and Co-Q 10...dr. didn't tell me to either, but some vitamins are water soluble, so because of the diuretics I take b and c...and the co-q 10 is supposed to be good for my heart.
