How often should tests be done while taking prevastin? (liver, kidney, functions)

Denise V.
08/13/08

I was recently put on prevastin and have since read that testing that should be done while on this medication to see if any side effects are happening. ie: liver, kidney, muscle damage

My question is how ofter is your doctor suppose to be doing blood work while on this med?

Also, my doctor did not discuss diet with me or anything! I was mailed this script with no instructions.  I go to UMC.

My Cholesterol is 209, Triglyceride is 228, HDL 38, non HDL 171, LDL Chol Calc 125

Glucose fasting is 115 and the lab result paper states: provisional diagnosis of diabetes with confirmation.   However, when I questioned this I was told that I do not have diabetes and that was it.

someone PLEASE help me understand these results as the doctors at UMC don't give you the time of day to explain anything and seem confused themselves.

I am 5'5  195lbs 41yrs old female , take meds for high blood pressure.
