Is there any way to raise the HDL levels
I had a blood test done and was told the my HDL was low. I do not remember what it was.
Is there a way to raise it, and yes i have been stressed with worring about money problems
Hi Donna,
Well, good news, raising HDL shouldn't cost you any $'s!
HDL should be above 40 mg/dl and ideally greater than 60 mg/dl. I recommend you read this post - Tips on How to Raise Your HDL.
Activity is the best way to raise HDL, but here's a quick summary of all steps to raise HDL:
- Increase physical activity to at least 30 minutes 5 days/week.
- Replace saturated fats with healthy unsaturated fats.
- Add omega 3 fatty acids.
- Increase dietary fiber.
- Use alcohol within reason (if you don't drink, don't start!)
The article I refer you to above is one I wrote where you'll receive more details.
All the best,
