reduction of effectiveness of Lipitor after long use

HJR

Are there studies to show that the body can get used to Lipitor and that the LDL values go up again after some time years of usage? I need to take a statin and originally 10 mg Lipitor helped best. But after a couple of years taking them the LDL levels again became unacceptable and my Dr put me on 20mgs. Again the levels were ok (LDL 108 and HDL 65). Now after two years they appear to go up again: LDL 120 but HDL 59. Compliance is close to perfect. Is there a phenomenon that the body adjusts to the Lipitor presence and the cholesterol synthesis pathway gets induced by low levels of LDL in some patients?
