Can over doing good things cause cholesterol to go up-excess fish oil, fiber, lescetin?

2 years ago , at my yearly physcial, my level was high-about 200. I'm 58 years old and my bp was high also. My Doctors wanted to put me on meds-which I didn't want to do. I asked if I could try diet and excersize first. It didn't help the bp, but the cholesterol when down. My bp med is benicar 40-25- last reading was 143/72. At my last phyiscal my cholesterol was up again to 212. My doc know I don't like meds so he said try 4000mg omega 3. Along withthat I'm taking the benicar, 1325 mg sot lecithin, 1000mg saw palmetto (been using this for years), resverawine complex, 1000mg cod liver oil, and 81mg asprin. I eat more then my share of fruits and vegges, I take a brisk walk for 35-40 minutes everyday, and I eat a large amount of fiber everyday. We tested again in 6 months and the hdl was down, ldl up, total up to 229. Now they want to put me on simcor, which will probably kill my liver and I don't really want to do it. Am I overdosing on something? What I'm I doing wrong? If I have to use a med, is there something that isn't going to destroy something else in my body? Any help you can give me would be appreciated?
