how can excercising affect a cholesterol test

I recently took a Cholestrol test at about 6PM and I fasted all day (12 hours) like I was instructed but I worked out really hard that morning and I didn't find out until later that you should avoid heavy activity for 48 hours before the test. Did this give me a falsely lower result then I should have gotten? I received borderline results does this mean I might have high results?

The abilty of exercise to reduce cholesterol has been noted in many studies.  This was seen in those who exercised regularly over a period of months, as opposed to someone who did vigorous exercising on the day of the test.  I am not aware of any study that suggests that the results will be substantially altered when you exercised vigorously on the day of the study.
