Q: what is tri glyceride if these have high level what effects on patient?

Hi Rukhsar,

 

After you eat, the fat you ate is broken down by the body and released into your blood as triglycerides.  Triglycerides are the main type of fat circulating in your bloodstream.  The body packages extra triglycerides into fat cells and stores them until they are needed for energy down the road.

 

High triglycerides are a problem, because even if your total cholesterol is normal (less than 200), but your triglycerides are high, your are still at increased risk for heart disease.  High triglycerides have also been linked with diabetes and pancreatitis.
