Q: I am 5ft.8 inc .weight 60 kg Do not smoke or drink. have a high cholesterol level

I take the barest amount of oil with my food.In a recent lipid profile test my serum cholesterol was 313.5,triglycerides was 220.8, hdl was 54.6 and ldl was 214.9. i work in an office i have to sitmost of the time. can you pl advise?

Hi Ray,

 

Here are the recommendations of the American Heart Association:


Total cholesterol less than 200
HDL cholesterol at least > 40, ideally > 60
LDL cholesterol at least less than 130, ideally less than 100
Triglycerides less than 150
