Q: Lipitor and muscle soreness

have been taking Lipitor for a couple of years now.  Can the drug create soreness in the legs, primarily in the calf area?Li

Hi EV,

 

Yes, a side effect of statin medications is muscle pain.  Also, statins block the production of coenzyme Q10.  I recommend discussing your medication, symptoms, and coenzyme Q10 supplementation with your physician.
