Reason for 40% rise in LDL?

ramarzo
04/17/08

My first lipid panel showed: TC=195, HDL=35,LDL=95, Triglycerides=325. At this same time abnormal liver function due to anti-biotics was shown. Two months later lipid panel showed:TC=206, HDL=33, LDL=136, Tri's=185. One year later: TC=224, HDL=33, LDL=164, Tri's=137.

Other facts: non-smoker, regular vigorous exercise, diet low in saturated fats (<20 mg / day) and cholesterol (<100 mg / day), avg blood pressure: 122/71.

My interest lies in the 43% rise in LDL experienced in just 2 months and the 72% rise in one year. This seems like very significant rise in such a short period. How common is such a large rise for LDL in such a short time period? Might the abnormal liver function have affected (lowered) the LDL levels? What about the decrease in triglycerides over the same period?
