Q: MY CHOLESTEROL IS 7.4 WHICH IS VERY HIGH

I AM 56YRS OLD, I AM 8. 2LBS I EXERCISE DAILY, I DONT SMOKE, I HAVE A GOOD DIET,I DONT EAT MEAT, BUT L HAVE JUST FOUND OUT MY CHOLESTEROL IS 7.4.  IN 2006 IT WAS 5.4. COULD STRESS CAUSE THIS SUDDEN SURGE , OR IF NOT WHAT ELSE COULD CAUSE THIS THANK YOU

Hi M. Reid,

 

To determine where the "problem" might be that has caused this increase in total cholesterol, it'd be beneficial to know the breakdown of your total cholesterol.  By this I mean, what are your LDL, HDL, and triglyceride levels?  Knowing these numbers will help narrow down what changes are needed to reverse the increase.
