Hi Shama,

 

You want to select whole grain products that are high in fiber and you want to combine grains and fruit with a protein source.  Protein helps slow the breakdown of carbohydrates which prevents the blood sugar spikes that can affect triglyceride levels.  For example, instead of just eating a piece of toast have toast with peanut butter or combine crackers with a couple slices of cheese.
