Q: simpastatin VS gemfibrozil

I am taking simvastatin for 1 month, but as my understanding simpastatin is only effective for reducing total cholesterol & ldl-c level, not reducing vldl-c & triglyceride, I have tridlyceride 193.7; choresterol total 248.5; hdl 33.4; ldl 176.3. should I change the medication to gemfibrozil or still remain taking simvastatin.Thank you,   Regards,  Zul Indonesia
