Hi Tony,   Here are the basics.  Actually putting it into practice requires much more detail.   1.  Replace saturated fats with unsaturated fats        Saturated fat sources - meat, milk, cheese, ice cream, butter, lard, shortening, hydrogenated vegetable fat, palm oil, and coconut oil.        Unsaturated fat sources -olive oil, canola oil, avocadoes, peanut butter, fish, nuts, and seeds.   2.  Keep trans fatty acids to a minimum (read food labels)   3.  Limit simple sugars - candy, baked goods, syrup, table sugar, soft drinks, jelly, and honey   4.  Limit alcohol   5.  Increase fish   6.  Increase dietary fiber   7.  Lose weight or maintain a healthy weight   Lisa Nelson, RD, LN Lower Cholesterol, Control Blood Pressure, Lose Weight
