Q: ORDERED SIMVASTATIN. GOT PRAVASTATIN. ARE THEY THE SAME?

Hi Jerry,

 

Both medications are statins, but simvastatin is the generic version of Zocor and prevastatin is the generic version Prevachol. The difference between the two medications may not influence your treatment plan. I recommend contacting your physician to discuss the medication you received and determine if you need to return to the pharmacy.
