Q: what should I do before cholesterol test

112 lbs. Chinese woman, 4 ft. 11 1/2 inches

Hi Spice,

 

Contact your physician's office. Typically you'll want to fast (not eat or drink anything other than water) 8-12 hours prior to your labwork.

Eat your regular diet the wekk before and fast 10-12 hours prior to the test. They can do a fast test with fasting to check your toal cholesterol but it does not include all the parts of the lipid panel. The complete panel give a better picture of what is happening.
