Q: How much Vit D should one take a day

I gather it is helpful to keep one`s level of Vit D at a certain level.   What would be a good daily top up to take to make sure one is healthy?

Although studies are coming out showing a correlation between vitamin D levels and longevity, it's premature to ascribe a cause and effect relationship. As you may know your body manufactures vitamin D in your skin when exposed to ultraviolet light, so every study I've seen could be saying "people who get off the couch and go outside and are active live longer", which isn't telling us anything we didn't already know. If I were you, I'd stick to the vitamin D in a multivitamin until more research is done.
