Q: How do doctors or blood techs arrive at the total cholesterol number?...it just doesn't add up!
Hi JMDND,
Here is the formula to calculate total cholesterol:
Total Cholesterol - HDL + LDL + VLDL
VLDL = Triglycerides divided by 5
