Q: Lipoprotien and CRP levels elevated

Had Heart attack 17mo. ago. I am 39yrs old. Last lipid was:HDL-70:Tri-57:LDL-86/C-reactive protien-3.22 and Lipoprotien is 85.5. Already on 1000mg of Niaspian. How concerened should I be about the Lipo and CRP? I see that my total cholesterol is 187 which is pretty good.

Hi Momhodge1,

 

If you are referring to lipoprotein(a), elevated levels are a concern even if your total cholesterol is within normal limits. Here's a post discussing lipoprotein(a) in more detail:
