  Carol,   Thanks for your question.   Crestor can be taken at any time of the day or night, with or without food.  This is a change from most other statin medications which are recommended to be taken in the evening.  Apparently, the drug half-life (how long it lasts in your body) is a factor in determining this.  One study monitored LDL (low density lipoprotein levels of Cholesterol) following doses of other statin medications.  Lower levels of LDL were observed when these medications were taken in the evening rather than the morning.    Please review our website for tips and suggestions for keeping your cholesterol under control (in addition to your medication).   Thank you.   Martin Cane, M.D.
