Hi Laudeh42,

Here's a post you may want to review:

You can quickly see changes in triglyceride levels if you make aggressive, positive changes; however, do not expect results overnight. Give yourself at least a month for significant improvements - if you make the necessary changes!

I'm confused. I've read one web siote that says you must cut out saturated fats to lower trigylcerides and then I read another that says you must cut out excess carbs and sugars. I beleive it is carbs, as I have fanatically cut out saturated fats and my tryglicerides haven't change. In doing so I even tried cutting obvious (pasta, bread, potatoes..) carbs, only to find my healthy choices like several apples a day, large glasses of oragne juice and grapefruit juice, "healthy" microwave lunch meals... all where loaded with carbs.

Which is it?

I really need help as I must lower my levels. Yes, I have also been increasign my exercising as well.

Thanks.

Hi jjsjjsva,

I know if can get confusing. Sugar and alcohol have the greatest impact on triglyceride levels, more so that saturated fat intake. However, that doesn't mean ignore the saturated fat in your diet. Saturated fat still plays a role; however, the role of sugar/alcohol is greater when it comes to triglycerides.
