Hi Anjali,

 

Here is a breakdown of body fat percents for females:

 

Essential fat 10-12%

Athletic 14-20%

Fitness 21-24%

Acceptable 25-31%

Obese >32% (32% or greater associated with increased health risks)

 

A body fat of 28.5% falls within the acceptable range.

 

Another tool you may refer to is body mass index.

 

Here's a breakdown of BMI:

Under weight <18.5

Normal weight 18.5-24.9

Overweight 25-29.9

Obese >30
