I am working with my family practice doctor in my area, I am wondering if I should work with a cardiologist since having high cholesterol runs in our family. Our bodies produce alot of LDL & high TRIG. My last blood draw was cholesterol at 202 and LDL 139 HDL 56 TRIG 35 CHOL/HDL RATIO 3.0 I have been on pravastation for a year. My doctor saids my LDL & TRIG should be lower and put me on Vytorin 10/40mg I experienced bad muscle soreness after 2 weeks of this drug. She now wants to put me on Tricor 48mg along with going back to taking my pravastatin 40mg. What is your opinion of which drug I should use?
