Thanks for your question.  You should never stop taking medication prescribed by your doctor wthout first discussing it at length with him/her.    As well you should contact him/her to discuss the symptoms you are having.  Maybe something can be adjusted or changed and still help to control the cholesterol levels.  You may be able to find information on the side effects of your medication on our site.  You can go to our Cholesterol Drug Information section and look up the drug you are using,  Each one has a precautions and side effects description.   Hope this helps.  All the best, sue
