Q: I heard that if you are taking any cholesterol control drug like Simvastatin, you will have to take it forever, is this correct?

I am intend to change my diet to become a vegetarian to control my cholesterol instead of taking medication. I do not know if anyone thinking or doing the same thing?

Hi Tony,

Your diet and lifestyle changes may allow you to gradually wean off the medication. Work with your physician to monitor your cholesterol levels and adjust your medication dosage as appropriate.
