Q: I'm 17 years old. My Cholesterol is 152. Is that high for my age?

Hello. I've recently had blood donations and they informed me that my cholesterol is 152. I'm an active swimmer for my high school team. I also swim during the summer to stay in shape, but i was wondering that i'm only 17 years of age and my cholesterol is that high of a number, is that a healthy area?

Hi Kayleigh,

Here are the recommendations of the American Heart Association recommends total cholesterol be less than 200.  A level of 152 mg/dl is good!
