Q: i weigh 110 am 5-1/2. i took home body fat test.body fat is 23% body water,bone and muscle is 84.7my ? is are those good numbers or do i still need to decrease my body fat.i am 52 yrs old. .

Hi Tina,


Here is a breakdown of body fat percents for females:

 

Essential fat 10-12% (Do not drop below 12% body fat)
Athletic 14-20%
Fitness 21-24%
Acceptable 25-31%
Obese >32% (32% or greater associated with increased health risks)

 

A body fat percent of 23 is in the fitness level - great job!
