Mary Lou,   Thanks for your question.    Zetia (ezetimibe) does not cause yellowing of the hair.  Unlike other medications used to treat high cholesterol, zetia works in the intestinal tract rather than the liver.  It blocks the absorption of dietary cholesterol which normally would go to the liver.  Most patients tolerate this drug very well, and it can be combined with other cholesterol lowering drugs.   I hope this has been helpful.   Martin Cane, M.D.
