I think it is very likely the Lipitor.  You see, statin drugs reduce co-Q10 because they act on co-A, a biomolecule needed to synthesize both cholesterol and co-Q10.  Low levels of Co-Q10 have been implicated with various forms of myopathy (muscle disease.) The first symptoms are muscle aches and cramps.  Thus, many doctors are prescribing co-Q10 supplements when prescribing statins.   NOTE: if you are prone to cramps, then your heart may also be prone to cramps.  We generally call heart cramps heart attacks.  Thus, it is always good to work with your doctor to reduce cramps.
