Hi Laurie,

It is possible for the oils to be causing your cholesterol to increase, but there are different types of cholesterol and these healthy fats typically cause the healthy good cholesterol forms to increase. This includes HDL (commonly known as the good cholesterol) and LDL cholesterol. LDL cholesterol is known as the "bad" cholesterol, but there are healthy forms of LDL cholesterol and unhealthy forms. So, even if the oils are causing an increase in levels its likely in healthy LDL/HDL particle sizes. I recommend discussing further with your doctor before making a decision to cut back. Request a comprehensive lipid profile if you haven't had one to better evaluate your cholesterol particle sizes.

All the best,
