Q: My 16 year old has LDL Cholesterol Calc of 115 which is considered high. the normal max should be 99. Should she be on medication.

Also her lymphs and neutrophils are high with a WBC of 10.1 Should she on any kind of medication for her high cholesterol?

no, no, no

 

cut out sugar (and sugery fruit), wheat, and starches and make sure she's not hypothyroid and is active. 

 

There is great debate going on right now about the safety of cholesterol medications and thier value to healthy people who just have high cholesterol and even just what "high cholesterol" even means.

 

the potential side effects are many, some severe, and some can stay with you for life...

google statin side effects and read some of the horror stories to convince yourself and if you still are not sure come back here and I'll give you the full explaination with links

Thanks David for the info. I will not give her any more meds considering she is already on alot of them for other problems.
