Your son is just fine and should go about his business. 10 years ago ANY physician would have told him exactly that. Today you are just as likely to have a statin crammed down your throat for having a "cholesterol" of 214. Know that the "normal" cholesterol, which keeps getting lowered every 5 years of so, was considered to be over 300 not so long ago. Now it is below 200....and based on NOTHING...the number was made up...then lowered to another made up number. In fact the first level of 250 wwas literally made up as a researcher walked to his podium to give a lecture at a medical conference...out of thin air.

Since statins and this multibillion dollar big pharmacy fraud began (started with "don't eat eggs" until proven over and over they are GOOD for you), the incidence of heart attack in the US HAS NOT DECLINED APPRECIABLY despite "FIXING" the alleged cause...high cholesterol. Except high cholesterol simply is not responsible for coronary artery disease...it is physiologically not possible. This is why you will not hear claims that statins reduce heart disease causing inflammation now..the cholesterol jig is up. PLEASE do research before taking a far from benign statin to block one of the single most imporant naturally occuring substances the boady makes.
