Wilbertbates, Thanks for your question. Sorry to hear of your problems. It sounds like you've taken the best step to answer your questions: you've informed your primary care physician of the lab findings and have made an appointment for an evaluation. It's very important to keep your primary doctor "in the loop" when receiving treatment from specialists. His imput is key in helping you make the right decisions, and he can only do so when informed. To answer the cholesterol question, elevated lipids (fats in the blood) have no effect on cancer, or its remission. As you know, high cholesterol can cause many other problems including stroke, heart, kidney, and vascular disease. So this will need attention also, as well as your other problems. Be sure to discuss this with your doctor at your visit.
