Researchers at the Medical University of South Carolina have found
further evidence linking high cholesterol to the development of
Alzheimer's disease. According to researchers, high cholesterol
intensifies the brain's inflammatory response and spurs amyloid
generation. This generation leads to the neurodegeneration and
dementia characteristic of Alzheimer's.
