Can Lipitor Cause Pancreatitis

People who use statins like Lipitor, Crestor, and Zocor to lower
cholesterol do not have a high risk of developing pancreatitis,
researchers have found. Doctors at Wake Forest School of Medicine
found that statin users do have a 40-percent higher risk of
developing pancreatitis than those who do not take the drugs. But
even among statin users, pancreatitis occurs in just one among
every 300,000 patients.
