Beta-glucan fiber lowers cholesterol

A recent study in the Netherlands has found that fruit drinks containing the soluble fiber beta-glucan can lower total cholesterol and LDL ("bad") cholesterol levels. Researchers also found the beta-glucan drinks decreased the body's ability to absorb cholesterol and increased its rate of breaking cholesterol down. Read more »
