Crestor cuts risk of vein blood clots by 43 percent: study

A new large study has found that the cholesterol-lowering drug Crestor cuts the risk of dangerous blood clots in the veins by 43 percent. This clotting, called venous thrombosis, is very common, and it can be disabling and even fatal. Researchers say this is the first study to show that a statin can be used to prevent these clots.
