Mangosteen juice may lower inflammation that can lead to diabetes and heart disease in obese patients, a new study suggests. The tropical fruit is not related to the mango, and while it is rarely available fresh in the U.S. it can be found frozen or canned. A study published in the journal Nutrition found that mangosteen juice lowered levels of C-reactive protein, which is a biomarker for inflammation.
