Results from a new study suggest that adding fish oil to a diet high in complex carbohydrates and low in saturated fats may help people who have metabolic syndrome better reduce the risks associated with this condition. Researchers say the combination of the omega-3 in fish oil and this type of diet can prevent the long-term adverse effects that a high-carb diet has on blood fats.
