New combo cholesterol med heads to the FDA

Drugmaker Abbott Laboratories has filed an application with the Food and Drug Administration for Simcor. Simcor is a new cholesterol med that combines Niaspan and Zocor. Niaspan raises good cholesterol; Zocor lowers bad cholesterol. Simcor is also expected to lower levels of blood fats known as triglycerides. Read more »
